Known the world over for his musical virtuosity, surreal tangents and trademark intelligence; the visit of Bath born Bailey will usher in a new chapter in the historied life of the showground as it looks to cement its position as the premier events venue in the West of England.
Larks in Transit is a compendium of traveller’s tale and the general shenanigans of twenty years as a travelling comedian, tackling politics, philosophy and the pursuit of happiness. Plus, he fashions a symphony from a ringtone, tells the real story of Old McDonald and re-imagines the Stars and Stripes. Two decades of touring larks from a comic described by The Telegraph as ‘The brainiest comic of his generation’.
Debbie Howarth, Commercial Enterprise Manager said; ‘These are exciting times for the Bath & West Showground as we start to implement our new business model. Welcoming Bill Bailey to the venue is a fabulous opportunity for us and just the beginning of inviting more high-profile artists back to perform here, in the heart of rural Somerset. The future looks bright as we revive the nostalgia of days gone by at the Bath & West!
