The International Women’s Day 2025 campaign theme is #AccelerateAction

At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158, which is roughly five generations from now, to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum.

Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.

So, together, let’s Accelerate Action to speed up the rate of progress worldwide.

The event will feature a panel discussion from inspirational women & men in business, sharing their stories, discussing challenging stereotypes and leaving you with ‘top tips’ to takeaway. Join us from 9:30am for breakfast pastries, fruit and tea and coffee and a chance to network. Presentations will begin at 10am, there will be a Q&A session, and we will finish at approx. 12.30pm.

This year the event will be hosted by Lucy Atherton, former BBC TV and ITV television and radio news correspondent. The panel of speakers includes

  • Royal Bath & West Society | Jenny Fenton, The Royal Bath & West Society’s new Hon. Treasurer
  • Royal Bath & West Society | Rebecca Pow, former DEFRA minister and Council Member of the Royal Bath & West Society.
  • Forging People |  Nick Elston, an Inspirational Speaker and Founder of Forging People
  • Sustainable Food Somerset | Tamara Giltsoff, strategy and innovation leader in the areas of Climate, Nature, and Innovative Finance and a trustee of Sustainable Food Somerset
