Join us for an evening with Amanda Owen – The Yorkshire Shepherdess

Amanda is a shepherdess, farmer’s wife, mother to nine children, a passionate photographer and a Sunday Times bestselling author. Amanda and her family live a life that has almost gone in today’s modern world, one ruled by the seasons and her animals. Home is Ravenseat, a 2000 acre hill farm at the head of Swaledale, North Yorkshire, one of the highest, most remote places in England.

Amanda first found fame on the ITV series The Dales, but it was the publication of her first book in 2014 that really installed her in the public consciousness.   The Sunday Times bestseller ‘The Yorkshire Shepherdess’ chronicles Amanda’s transformation from Huddersfield townie to rural sheep farmer.

Visitors to An Evening With Amanda Owen can look forward to straight-talking first hand stories as she talks about her journey from townie teenage goth to hill shepherdess and mother of nine.  The evening will be packed with amusing anecdotes, colourful characters and inspiring stories from her two decades spent farming at Ravenseat, all delivered with Amanda’s trademark energy, humour and charm.

Doors open at 6:45pm, with a welcome drink on arrival and a pasty supper included in your ticket price. A licensed bar will be open for the evening.
